312,138. White, A. E. (Motor Wheel Corporation). Feb. 21, 1928. Energy - absorbing elements; covers and protectors for brakes.-A brakedrum 22, clamped between a stepped hubflange 13 and the wheeldisc 16, is stiffened by having its outer edge curled over to form a substantially semi-circular flange 24. The brakedrum may be.enclosed by a cover-plate 25 having its edge 26 shaped to embrace the edge of the drum. The wheel disc is profiled as shown and has its inner edge flanged to seat on the shoulder 17 of the hub-flange.
