Abstract

311,343. Aubourg et Baillon. May 9, 1928, [Convention date]. Branches and mains, connecting; joints formed by welding.-A branch pipe 1 is connected to a main 4 by providing the end thereof with a forged flange 2 which is welded to the main at its periphery 3 as shown. A reinforcing sleeve 5, having an opening with a raised rim 6 which is adapted to surround the branch and is welded thereto at 8, is then applied to the main and secured thereon by welding at its ends 9, 9<1>. The sleeve is formed from a steel plate which is bent around the main and has its edges welded together at 7.
