Abstract

310,552. Feldman, E. D. Nov 29, 1927. Direct air-pressure apparatus, non.-automatic.- Apparatus for spraying viscous liquids such as varnish, lacquer, &c. comprises a liquid container a provided with an inlet b with a non- return valve for the admission of compressed air or gas and having an extension b<1> so bent that the jet of air or gas does not come into direct contact with the liquid. A pipe e from near the bottom of the container delivers to a nozzle f, the outlet of which is closed by a plug valve g controlled by a spring h bearing on the shoulder of a rod l passing through a stuffing box o. A hand lever i mounted on a bracket on the container a has an extension k which bears on an adjustable nut r on the rod l and operates the valve g. An adjustable stop u which may be locked by a set screw v and is provided with a scale determines and indicates the amount that the valve g may be moved. A filter n may be arranged within the tube e.
