Abstract
306,200. Testrup, N., Gram, T., S÷derlund, O., and Techno-Chemical Laboratories, Ltd. Nov. 21, 1927. Gaseous currents, materials carried by.- Material is dried by carrying it in an externally heated gas' current, and a temperature equal to or greater than that of the. interior is maintained on the exterior at all points which the material and gas pass to prevent condensation and blocking. The exterior temperature is kept above the dew point of the gas. Material is fed at d into a pipe c and is carried by air driven through a fan f through a tube e and heating conduits a to a cyclone separator h and is removed by a conveyer q, the apparatus being wholly enclosed in a casing b heated by a steam or other pipe j. Separate containers forming double walls or jackets for parts of the apparatus may be provided, and where regions of higher temperature are to be used, separate jackets and heat supply may be provided, the connecting pipes being also heated.
