Abstract
305,939. International General Electric Co., Inc., (Assignees of Allgemeine Elektricitõts-Ges.). Feb. 10, 1928, [Convention date]. Void [Published under Sect. 91 of the Acts]. Driving-arrangements; protective or safety devices, auxiliary.-A worm-shaft c driven by an electric motor a is maintained under axial elastic pressure which is normally sufficient to maintain the worm d in engagement with the worm wheel c driving, for example, a conveyer belt f, but in the event of overload, the pressure is overcome by the action of the worm wheel and the shaft is displaced to an extent sufficient to disengage the worm from the worm-wheel, means being also provided whereby the displacement of the shaft cuts off the supply to the motor. The motor drives through a coupling b and the shaft is held against axial displacement by a spring: k, the pressure of which may be adjustable. Movement of the shaft opens a switch g whereby the holding coil h of the motor switch i is deenergized. The displacement of the shaft may cause a switch such as g to close and energize a coil which opens the switch i.
