Abstract

304,725. England, E. C., and Mc- Donald, K. M. Jan. 25, 1928, [Convention date]. Door stops. - When a door 2 is slammed in closing a striker 11 engages a projection 7 of a resilient buffer 6 that is pivotally mounted at 4 on the jamb 1, the member 6 being thereby swung from the vertical position into the position shown to engage the door. The striker slides over the top 7 of the buffer member if the door is closed gently. The member 6 is preferably positioned so that its outer lateral edge projects slightly from the jamb 1; when the door is closed the member 6 is compressed and prevents rattling.
