Abstract
302,053. Siegenthaler, E. R. Dec. 14, 1927. Addition, to 239,729 and 279,221. Universal couplings. - Relates to spring couplings in which the looped ends of the springs are clamped fast to supports according to Specification 239,729, and furnished with buflers between the supports inside the springs according to Specification 279,221. By this invention there are three double-faced supporting castings B on one coupling disc C, and three like castings F on the other disc C<1>. Buffers E are attached to all the six faces of the castings F, and the faces of the castings B are burnished where they are to be struck by the buffers. Thus there is one buffer inside each of the six springs J. The castings B, F are supported upon distance pedestals A by bolts G which pass through the discs C, C<1> alternately, and which also serve to clamp the ends of the springs J, which are barrel-shaped as described in Specification 265,381. The buffers E may be of rubber, fibre, or the substance known by the registered trade mark " Ferodo."
