Yarns, warping and beaming.-In beaming apparatus wherein the beam a is pressed against its driving drum b by its own weight and also by brake devices applied to the beam carrying arms c these brake devices engage arcuate guides at each end of the beam, the pressure being determined by levers p and springs q. The guides k may be tapered so that the frictional resistance will decrease as the beam gets filled. As shown, the arms c carry pawls w engaging ratchet teeth on the guides k, which can be turned about the pivot h by gearing r<1>, r<2>, s when the filled beam is removed.
