Heating lubricant.-The oil bath in an intermittently working refrigerating machine is maintained at an elevated temperature during the inactive periods of the machine to prevent collection of condensed refrigerant in the oil. The bath 7 of a machine such as that described in Specification 264,730 is heated by an electric resistance 30, which may be left in circuit during active periods of the machine.
