299,502. Smith, W. S., Garnett, H. J., and Holden, J. A. July 27, 1927. Alloys.-An iron alloy free from carbon contains about equal proportions of copper and silicon, the combined content not exceeding 15 per cent. There may be 3-6 per cent of copper and 3-6 per cent of silicon. A small quantity of a deoxidizer such as manganese may be added.
