Abstract

299,493. Pocock, A. L. July 25, 1927. Alloys.-White metal alloys consist of a preponderant proportion of zinc together with copper, aluminium, and a small proportion of silver. The alloys may be made by adding to zinc an alloy consisting of 0.5-2 parts of copper, 1-3 parts of aluminium, and up to 1 part of silver. The zinc content is preferably not less than 85 per cent. Small additions of other metals serving as hardening agents, such as magnesium, may be made. The Provisional Specification refers also to alloys of copper, silver, and aluminium without zinc.
