Abstract

298,471. Farman, H., and Farman, M., (trading as Farman, H. et M.). Oct. 8, 1927, [Convention date]. Machine guns.-The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a) comprises an arrangement by which an aircraft propeller shaft 45, Fig. 5, (Cancelled), is connected through bevel gearing 44, 43, 48, 49 to a spindle 50 proceeding to the synchronizing box of a machine gun, in which box the required reciprocating motion is produced. The gear 44 is preferably floatingly mounted on loose flutings. In a different arrangement, the shaft 45, Fig 6 (Cancelled), carries a cam 52 which itself produces the reciprocation in rods 53, 55. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
