Protectors, securing.- A cushion heel comprises a resilient portion B permanently secured to the shoe, and a hard and non- resilient tread D detachably secured to the resilient portion. The portion B is attached to the shoe below a hard adapter plate A by means of a metal plate C and screws, or by adhesive. The tread has a recess undercut at the breast end and formed with a groove, as shown, at the rear end. The tread is merely sprung into position over a correspondingly shaped part of the resilient portion B.
