Lays.-In a terry loom, the shuttle used is carried by a middle part 3, which is separate from and is pivoted on pins 4 on the supports 2 of the layer 1 proper. The rockable arms carrying the middle part have slots for adjustable pins 9 engaged by push levers 7 during the forward movement of the lay for the formation of terry loops. The time taken for the beat up is the same for varying positions of the pins 9 and consequent varying lengths of loops. The part 2 guides the shuttle.
