Abstract

291,999. Bundy, H. W. Sept. 12, 1927. Cased forms; tubes.-Multi-ply metal tubes, comprising an inner non-corrodible lining e.g. copper, and an outer covering of steel &c. are made by bending two strips of the tinned metal to U-section between foils a, b, interengaging the strips and forming them to tubular section on a mandrel c by additional rolls and finally passing the composite tube so formed through a sweating die. The strips are interengaged with their open seams diametrically opposed. The lining may be much thinner than the covering.
