Abstract

291,684. Wade, H., (Neher Akt.-Ges., R. V.). Nov. 26, 1927. Metal foil.-Aluminium and other metal foils in web form, particularly foil having one surface goffered or painted, are joined by electrically welding at a series of points. The foils 11, 10 are formed between a pair of rolls 1, 3, the former having radial points 2 co-operating with grooves in the roll 3. The roll 1 is electrically connected through a contact 7 to a battery 8, the other terminal of which is connected to one of the guide rollers 9. The rolls are insulated from their bearings and the frame 13 is movable to lift the roll 1 after the parts are welded. The points 2 perforate the foils and welding is thus effected.
