Alloys.-An alloy steel for the manufacture of high speed tools contains substantially 17 per cent of tungsten, 5 per cent of chromium, 1.5 per cent of vanadium, 7 per cent of tantalum, and 0.9 per cent of carbon, with or without 2 per cent of molybdenum.
