Abstract
287,700. Suddards, T. D., and' Suddards, E. March 7, 1927. Vehicle and like lamps; lantern shutters.-A vehicIe or like lamp is provided with a screen having a a central opaque reflecting portion d facing the source of light and surrounded by a coloured transparent or translucent portion a, the upper edge of the screen being pivotally mounted about a substantially horizontal spindle b located towards the upper portion of the lamp. The reflecting portion d preferably is convex with respect to the source of light, but it may be flat or concave, and it may be made of metal or glass. The portion a is in the form of a disc and may be made of green or yellow glass or celluloid. The portions. a, d are carried by a light framework or die-casting, the spindle b of which is provided with a cranked arm q for attachment of controlling wires or rods. The lamp may also be fitted with a circular ring n of green or yellow glass or celluloid. An inwardly reflecting or coloured transparent or translucent segmental screen p, Fig. 4, may be fixed above the spindle b.
