Abstract

Jacks. -Lifting-jacks are positioned under a vehicle by providing them with a crutch which is formed or fitted with parts adapted to slide in guides formed in or fitted to a spring pad or other abutment attached to the vehicle, The spring b is fitted with a jack pad or plate a spread from the spring by a wedge block e and fitted with side flanges c with inturned ends, forming a guideway for rollers h on the crutch i. The crutch may have rounded ends adapted to slide in the guideway. The pad mav be clamped to the axle or other part of the vehicle. The crutch k, Fig. 7<a>, may have horns k<1> adapted to engage a flat or crescent shaped pad or may be fitted with a detachable block l, Fig. 9, having flanges m<3> for engaging the crutch and flanges m<2> for engaging the guide on the vehicle.
