Abstract
284,022. Graseby, R. C. Oct. 22, 1926. Clockwork actuation.-At a predetermined time, a lever 16, controlling or effecting the actuation of an electric switch or a valve is struck by a pin 15 on a lever 14 pivoted to an arm 10 rotated by clockwork. the pin 15, during the rotation of the arm 10, bearing against a stationary internal cam surface 5 provided with a step 6. The arm 10 is set to the time required. It then moves round in the direction of the arrow and the pin 15, moving nearer to the centre 2 under the influence of the cam surface, strains a spring 12 connected between the other arm of the lever 14 and a branch 13 of the member 10 till the pin 15 reaches the step 6 and is suddenly forced by the spring over the step. During this quick movement the pin strikes the lever 16 and actuates the switch or valve. Several arms 10 may be provided on the same device, adapted to operate several switches or valves at different predetermined times.
