Operating and controlling doors by springs and checks; stays.-A bar 9 pivoted to an angle-plate 8 on the door 2 is slidably mounted in a swivelling sleeve 3 mounted on trunnions 4 in a bracket 5 of an angle-plate 6 secured to the pillar 1, a spiral spring 11 forming an elastic buffer device between the sleeve and a nut 10 on the end of the rod. The bar slides in a recess 1<x> in the door post.
