Abstract

282,963. Sloper, T. Dec. 3, 1926. Tyre attachments to rims. - Wheel rims for 'pneumatic tyres of the type described in Specifications 10943/03, 1946/04, 18424/04, and 149,415 having upstanding flanges with circumferential lips and laterally extending retaining bands, have the retaining bands D independently adjustable by means of screwed lugs D<2> and screws D<3>. The screws are held against axial movememt but can rotate and the rim is strengthened by cross stay bolts C. The edges E2, E<3> of the cover edges are disposed at right-angles to each other. The rim may be formed of steel while the lugs, bolts and bolt-retaining lugs are formed of phosphor bronze. The edges B<3> are thickened according to the method of Specification 126,125.
