Abstract

282,215. Lynch, H. L. Dec. 17, 1926. Gas cooking-stones.- The bottom of a gas oven is enclosed, either permanently or by means of a removable drip tray 2, and the burners are located outside the oven with their nozzles 7 in front, and outside of, air inlet apertures 6 formed in the walls near to the bottom. Secondary air, heated by contact with the flames before entering the apertures 6, is entrained by the gas jets passing through the apertures. Fig. 5 shows a modification for existing ovens with internal burners, a tray 8 being provided having flanged sides 8a, 8b enclosing the burners and apertures 9 registering with the burner jets, formed in the sides.
