Abstract
278,677. Roach, F. E. Oct. 9, 1926, [Convention date]. Couplings, disconnectible. - A hose 12 is attached to the base 10 of a lawn sprinkler, Figs. 2 and 3, by coupling members 14, 15, the member 14, which is screwed to the tail member 13, being provided with a U-shaped slot 18 adapted to be engaged by a flange 37 on the member 15 and with a resilient gasket 22, subjected to the internal pressure, to secure fluid-tightness between said coupling members. The coupling members are held in engagement by means of a spring follower which is supported on the coupling 15 and comprises a collar 40, adapted to bear against the face of the coupling member, and a slit spring washer 41. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a) comprises also a coupling, Figs. 8 (Cancelled) and 9 (Cancelled), in which the two parts thereof are in the form of socket and plug members 43, 44. The member 43 is provided with a groove 47 adapted to receive beads 50 on the end of spring fingers 49 which are formed integral with the member 44 and surround a jointing member 45 of rubber. This subjectmatter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
