Abstract

Winding webs.-In a machine for slitting a paper &c. web into strips and winding the strips on separate bobbins 7, 8, the bobbins are driven so that the same surface of the strips is presented to the outside of the bobbins. This is effected bv driving the bobbins frictionally from a winding-drum 6 over or under which the strips are led. The slitters 2, 3 and the drum 6 are driven by helical gears on a common shaft 12. Specification 196,592, [Class 31 (i), Cutting and severing machines &c.], is referred to.
