Abstract

268,921. Crook, W. Feb. 11, 1926. Dental instruments.-In a dental wax knife the usual knife blade 1 and spatula 2 are formed of copper or a suitable alloy and are separately mounted in grooves or slots in a heat insulating handle. The handle may be formed in two halves 3, 4, each grooved to receive the shanks of the members 1, 2, or a groove may be formed in one half only; alternatively, a one-piece vulcanite handle 6 may have separate recesses 7, 8 moulded therein to receive the shanks. The handle parts and the blades are secured together by rivets. A known construction is referred to wherein the blade 1 and spatula 2 are formed from a single piece of steel having strips of wood or the like rivetted to the central portion to form a handle.
