Abstract

268,410. Dennis, E. D. Dec. 1, 1925. Double walls.-In a cavity wall in which stanchions carry the roof and floors, the stanchions 1, Figs. 2 and 3, are of metal and are placed in the inner wall, and the inner slabs or molar blocks 6 are cemented between the flanges. The corner stanchions are preferably set diagonally. The stanchions may be encased in concrete with grooves for the slabs. The outer wall is built of bricks up to the first floor, and the upper part is covered with tiles 15 hung on battens secured to sloping or vertical studding 17. The studding 17 may consist of T-irons with portions of the flange slit and bent to form clips for the battens.
