Abstract

268,391. Minton, O. March 26, 1926, [Convention date]. Drying materials in long lengths.-An airtight joint is maintained between the peripheries of the rollers 1, 2, 3 cooling the material inlet and outlet openings of a vacuum drying chamber and the casing 4 by recessed resilient strips 9, and liquid seals 18, the strips being pressed against the rollers by inflated tubes 10. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a) comprises also means for preventing the entry of air into the chamber between the ends of the rollers and the casing consisting of resilient rings which are pressed against the removable metal ends of the rollers by inflated annular tubes disposed in grooves in the casing. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
