Abstract

267,816. Cook, A. V. Sept. 27, 1926. Exhaust-silencers.-A fitting for silencing and withdrawing exhaust gases, which may be fitted in a silencer casing A or an ordinary exhaust pipe, comprises a casting D embodying bearings for a rotatable shaft F carrying at each end a fan G, G<1> rotated by the exhaust gases. As shown, the casing D is screwed in the casing A by screws 0 and is provided with three openings R for the passage of the exhaust gases and with a drilled shaft K, having a non-return inlet valve S, for lubricating the bearings. The casing is provided at its ends with an inlet B and an outlet C.
