Worm pumps. - A pump has a rotating cylindrical screw piston 1 and abutment toothed discs 2, 3 engaging the screw; the flanks of the teeth are shaped in accordance with the laws governing cycloidal or involute gear systems. The base circle 8 of the teeth coincides with the pitch circle and rolls on the enveloping cylinder of the screw.
