Water-tube boilers.-A water-tube boiler of the kind having upper and lower transverse drums connected by bent tubes comprises a front bank of upflow and downflow tubes c, c<1> connected to upper and lower drums B, A, a rear bank of upflow and downflow tubes F<2>, F connected to a steam and feed-receiving drum E and a lower drum F', and a bank of feed-heating tubes G<2>, all the tube bank being inclined and parallel with each other and arranged transversely to the passage of the gases towards the outlet M<2> in the top of the rear wall of the boiler setting. The upper drum E is connected to the lower drum A by downflow tubes F<3>. The feed flows from the heater into the drum E through a pipe G<5> open. ing on the near side of a longitudinal plate e in the drum. A superheater D is fitted between the tubes of the front bank. Steam passes from the drum B to the drum E through a pipe E<1> and is taken off to the superheater through a pipe E<2>.
