Abstract

Rotary kilns. - A downdraught kiln for salt glazing comprises a circular kiln chamber surmounted by a conical chimney 7, into which the waste gases from flues 9 beneath the perforated floor 1 are delivered by damper-controlled uptakes 8 situated in the outer wall between the peripheral fire-plates 4. The dome 2 of the kiln chamber has the usual damper-controlled outlet 10. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specifications 5044/76, 4356/90, 6231/90, and 11119/02.
