Abstract
259,438. Seme, P. K. I. Jan. 11, 1926. Night latches, locked on both sides of the door by pin-tumbler locks operated by a common key, have the inside lock arranged in the rim of the night latch. The invention is more particularly applicable to the night latch described in Specification 258,757 wherein a rocking lever is operated to block or release the latch bolt. This lever pivotes on the rod o and has a short blocking arm q and a long arm t. A cam s in the arm t renders it operable by the follower i of the outside pin-tumbler lock. The inside pin tumbler lock y' is mounted in the rim a<1> of the night latch and the barrel m carries a projection y<2> which operates an arm t<1> integral with the arm t' to rock the blocking lever. The arm t is held in inoperative position by engaging a notch in the door v and is released by the pin x on the barrel of the outside lock and by the depression of the rod u by the engagement of its lug 2 with the arm y<2> of the inside lock y<1>.
