259,400. Cross, R. C., and Munday, R. L. Nov. 3, 1925. Closure members, rotary cylindrical. -In a rotary distributing-valve for engines, pumps, &c. of the kind having longitudinal packing members 10 resiliently mounted in slots 11 in the valve chamber 1, projections 18 on the members 10 engage grooves 19 in the valve 4 to prevent longitudinal displacement of the members 10 relatively to the valve. The members 10 may be recessed below to take the springs 12, and above to clear the packing rings 9 of the valve. Helical packing grooves 16 may be provided in the valve, as in Specification 246,687.
