Abstract

257,871. Pearson, C. H. March 2, 1925. Projectile fuzes.-A centrifugal plate 22, Figs. 1, 2, and 3, is pivoted directly on the fuze body 10 between the primer 16 and the firing pin 41, Fig. 4, of a clockwork time fuze. The plate 22 is released on discharge by the set back of an inertia bolt 85, Figs. 2 and 3, and is then swung out by centrifugal force against the action of a spring 23. This leaves the firing pin free to strike the primer when the lever 68 of the trigger 44 is released at the appointed time by a notch in the disc 62 of the clockwork.
