257,284. Naamlooze Vennootschap Technisch Bureau van Assendelft de Coningh. Aug. 22, 1925, [Convention date]. Pneumatic separating.- Apparatus for sorting tea into grades of increasing weigh comprises a number of conveying belts 2 - - 6 arranged above each other in step formation and a series of nozzles 8, 9 &c. adapted to direct currents of air of increasing velocity through the tea falling from one belt to the next in series and blow the separated part into a collecting hopper. The nozzles are connected to an air duct 10 and fan 11 and have regulating means which, in the apparatus shown, consist of pairs of sliding plates whose distance apart is adjusted by right and left-handed screws. The thickness of the layer on the topmost belt 2 is regulated by a brush 7 the shaft of which is adjustable in height.
