Valve gear.-A set of valves 3 is actuated by a pair of cams 7 arranged at opposite sides of a bearing 5 of the cam shaft, the bearing having an extension 9 which serves as a guide for a cross-piece 10 contacting with the cams and engaging the valve stems through tappets 11. These tappets are secured in the split ends of the cross-piece by scews 11<1>.
