Abstract

A head and face support may be affixed to the head restraint of a motor vehicle seat by locating an elongate bar (Part 3 Figure 1) between the upright bars of said head restraint, see figure 4. A curved elongate bar (Part 2 Figure 1) is connected at one end to said elongate bar and at a second end to a face support (Part 1 Figure 1). Said face support is shaped, in the manner of a boxing mask, contacting the forehead, temples and facial regions of the head. As the wearer is thus interposed between the conventional seat back / headrest at the back of the user and the face mask to the front of the user the head is prevented from falling forward or sideways if the user falls asleep. The device may be used with a child / booster seat.

Description

Patent Application In Car Face and Neck Rest Aqeel Javed, Bradford CROSS-REFERENCE TO RELATED APPLICATIONS -Not Applicable STATEMENT REGARDING FEDERALLY SPONSORED RESEARCH OR DEVELOPMENT -Not Applicable REFERENCE TO SEQUENCE LISTING, A TABLE) OR A COMPUTER PROGRAM LISTING COMPACT DISK APPENDIX -Not Applicable
Background of The Invention:
The present invention is in the technical field of in car seating devices. More particularly, the present invention is in the technical field of in car head and neck support.
When driving in a car) everybody has experienced children falling asleep in the back of the car.
Through the laws of science, the passengers head will inevitably flop forward while the vehicle is in motion, whether this is through the car slowing down and speeding up, or just due to the common direction the head falls when not supported. With the head falling in this direction, this is then blocking the wind pipe and restricting the passengers breathing capabilities.
Description:
The product is essentially a face and neck rest for persons including children in a child/booster seat travelling in a motor vehicle for extended periods of time. This is an accessory device as opposed to a standalone device.
The product is made up of [4] component parts. It is quick and easy to assemble and attaches to any car headrest or window. Child car seats do not have this built in feature. The Sleep E'zzz is designed to support the head/face and neck of a person or child, in deep sleep in a moving motor vehicle. The Sleep E'zzz is designed to plug this gap in the market.
The main features of the Sleep E'zzz are: 1. A boxing type head mask) see [Figure 1 Part 1] below. The frame of the head mask is made up of high resistant flexible/bendable plastic or metallic material and covered in foam and plastic/leather for comfort and style. It is designed to fit comfortably around a persons or child's face without feeling tight or feeling like a grip. More nestling and nurturing.
2. The mask feature is attached to a high resistant flexible coil rod at one end) which is bendable yet durable, see [Figure 1 Part 2] below.
3. The flexible metallic/plastic coil rod is attached at the other end to a solid plastic block. The plastic block connects to the head rest of the car seat (designed for alert and wide awake children) See [Figure 1 Part 3] below.
4. The solid spring loaded plastic block has open ended connectors with a contracting piece to allow it to fit on the headrest bars of the vehicle. The plastic block is extendable allowing it to fit most, if not, all car seats. See [Figure 4] below.
5. The flexible coil also comes with an additional attachment, a screw on suction feature, which can be used to attach the face and neck rest to the rear or side window of the car, if the plastic block cannot be fixed to the car seat itself. See [Figure 2 Part 4] 6. The face mask can be quickly and easily manoeuvred onto the face of the persons or child whilst they are asleep, and can be pushed away from the face when the device is not needed or being used.
7. The face mask LEigure 1 Part 1] contains resistant flexible/bendable plastic or metallic material that allows the mask to comfortably fit on the persons or childs face keeping it in a safe and secure position. See [Figure 3 Part 5].
