Abstract

A fixing clamp for attaching a pipe or conduit to a joist or other horizontal framework installations comprises means for supporting the pipe or conduit and a centrally aligned hole or a double screw port for nailing or screwing the clamp to timber. The clamp can be used to fix a pipe or conduit to a joist supporting a floor or a suspended ceiling.

Description

Pipe Work Joist-Hanger This invention relates to simplifying most types of horizontal pipe work installation runs which are normally used on the underside of floor joists and suspended ceilings for heating and electrical cable conduits.
Whilst it is relatively simply to install pipe work along joists, skirting boards, walls and other accessible work surface areas, it is commonly known that if the pipe run is best under floor joists or in other inaccessible places on site, usually a compromise alternative pipe run routing is used. There has been no recognized standard fixing for when the installation is best placed under the joist and other inaccessible places.
The Pipe Work Joist-Hanger is a quick and simple way to fix all types of pipe work to the underside of floor joists, suspended ceilings and all horizontal frame work. The Joist-Hanger will even allow for the sloping incline of waste and soil pipe runs necessary in some types of installations.
This type of clamping device would not only give a more complete and secure fixing, but also a professional finish to the job.
There are currently many products on the market for fixing all types of pipe work in installations, but the Pipe Work Joist-Hanger is the only fixing that covers pipe work in inaccessible spaces such as under floor board joists. The Pipe Work Joist-Hanger can simply be nailed or screwed into timber or other surfaces as required, using either the centrally aligned hole of the smaller Joist-Hanger or the more positionable double screw ports of the larger Joist-Hanger.
Example
Pipe Work Joist-Hanger The invention will now be described solely by the accompanying examples referred to in the drawings: Figure 1 shows the general purpose Pipe Work Joist-Hanger. This is sized to the currently-used types of pipes.
Figure 2 shows an alternative type of Pipe Work Joist-Hanger which allows specific placement for where an incline is desired in the installation. (achieved by its vertical position placement on surfaces) Figure 3 shows an example of the Pipe Work Joist-Hanger used mostly in electrical installations.
Figure 4 shows yet another example of the Pipe Work Joist-Hanger used in heavier types of installation.
Figure 5 shows the Pipe Work Joist-Hanger in an under floor joist position.
Figures 1 & 3 can be used with all smaller types of pipe work and can be put in position before the pipe run is made; the pipe is then simply snapped into the Pipe Work Joist-Hanger when needed.
Figures 2 & 4 show an alternative Pipe Work Joist-Hanger which can be partially fixed and then fully fixed when the pipe work is slotted into place.
