Abstract

Electric radiators. -In an imitation fire employing an electric lamp or lamps and a translucent screen 1 of coloured glass or the like. a screen 2 of metal or other opaque material, provided with irregular openings, is arranged on one or both sides of the translucent screen. The screen 2. Fig. 2, may be of polished aluminium, the openings 3 having reflecting edges 4, so as to produce the effect of burning coal. A further screen 7, slotted as shown in Fig. 3, in conjunction with a slotted revolving cylinder 8 surrounding the lamp, produces a " rising spark " effect. The screens may be arranged over the top of an electric fire or radiator, which may consist of a basket fire having imitation wood logs on the top thereof. Flicker producing and heating elements may also be employed. Specification 239,724 is referred to.
