Abstract
250,792. Hagstedt, C. N. G. June 26, 1925. Joints for concentric pipes; junction pieces and the like.-Inner and outer concentric pipes 1, 1<a> forming a heat exchanger are joined by bent pipes 2, 10 fixed in the main structure and a gas-tight joint is obtained by screwing out a threaded ring 11. Alternatively, the joint 2 of the inner pipe 1<a> may be made integral therewith and bent into semicircular shape, Fig. 5. The inner pipe is supported on the outer by projections 8, 22<a>. And a gas-tight joint is obtained by forming the axially slotted shoulder 12 with projections 13, Fig. 15, which are forced together by a shaped strap 14 having a cotter pin 13, Fig. 16, or by a spring strap 16, Fig. 19.
