Rolling - machines. - In briquetting presses of the gravity-feed type, a briquetting roll is used of such a diameter that its ratio to the specific gravity of the material treated is expressed by the equation : - (x-36.25)<2> + (y- 26.25)<3> = 21.25<2> where x = the roll diameter and y = ten times the specific gravity of the material treated. Fig. 1 shows such a press having rolls a and b furnished with equally-spaced recesses c. The briquettes are formed in the pockets between co-operating rolls.
