Plug couplings; two-part couplings. - A hollow resilient plug is formed with a helical slot in the wall, either by cutting a tubular member, or coiling a wire or strip. The plug a may be parallel-sided or tapered and the helical material a<1> may be of square or other angular section so as to form edges a<2> that secure a good contact and clean the socket. The plug may be screw-threaded for mounting in an insulating block x and to carry a nut a<6> for attaching leads. A head or flange a<5> may be provided and transverse holes or slots a<7> may be formed to receive the leads. A clamping screw may be inserted in the axial bore or in the transverse hole to grip the lead. Specification 231,280 is referred to.
