Abstract

227,408. Fries, R. Jan. 8, 1924, [Convention date]. Sparking-plugs.-A shield for sparking-plugs comprises a sleeve 2 which fits over the hexagonal portion of the plug casing and is made of good heat-oonducting material such as aluminium of substantial thickness. It is internally threaded to receive a bush 5 of insulating material. This bush is centrally bored to pass over the central electrode and is longitudinally adjusted according to the length of the plug with which the shield is used. Folding handles 4 are pivoted on the sleeve for facilitating the insertion and removal of the plug 1, and cooling is further promoted by ribs 3.
