Rolling.-A rolling-mill for eliminating free passes comprises two pairs of rolls 4, 5, and 7, 8, which are preferably intergeared so that each pair rotates in opposite directions, each pair having draft grooves 9 and wider clearance grooves 11 so that the work may pass freely through the clearance grooves of the first pair while being rolled down by the aligned draft grooves of the second pair, after which rolling, the work is passed back through clearance grooves of the second pair and rolled down in draft grooves of the first pair.
