Abstract

A knife for skimming, filling or stripping for example that has an adjustable head where the positioned of the head in respect to the handle 6 of the knife is adjustable. The adjustment means are two pivotal 4, 5 joints located between the handle 6 and head 1, 2 of the skimming/filling knife forming a double knuckle joint. The joints may be tightened via a screw and fly nut to lock the joint in one position. The handle 6 may be hollow and accommodate a longer handle/tube to allow the user to use the device at higher levels.

Description:
The invention of this knife is to be used on all surfaces and all types of fillings. The mechanism used is just like the brush. The knife is connected to the handle via two pivots. The pivot closer to the knife allows the knife to move backwards and forwards. The second pivot allows the knife to move left and right. Both of these pivots can be used together In order to create more flexibility. In skimming it is very important to have an item which can provide you with various different angles. Skimming is achieved with the spatula head held at an angle and moving it from right to left and visa versa.
The pivots included in the knife will create many options for different angle use. The composition of the pivot is really unique; ft is made from a plastic shell. The shell is composed of two circular plastic plates with ridged edges to secure the pivots with the spatula and the handle.
The end of the spatula is connected to one half of the pivot. While the other half of that same pivot is connected an another Identical but diagonal pivot which is connected to the knife's handle.
The way that this mechanism works, is by loosening up the wing, this will release the screw and the shell that holds the knife, twisting and pulling sideways until a position that is desired has been created, then the wing needs to be tightened again with the screw to pull the parts all together again.
This method is also used in the second pivot mechanism only to move the knife in the opposite directions (backwards/forwards) In order to create the best angle that Is required to complete the job in a quicker more flexible and comfortable way.
This knife design to be made for all the types of stripping and filling knifes with different shapes, sizes and specification, specialised knifes and all types of longth out ( mm }, thickness ( mm ) knifes.
