Abstract
245,472. Davol, G. K. Jan. 5, 1925, [Convention date]. Balancing moving parts by weights. - In engines with cylinders 2 arranged parallel to a shaft, oppositely-moving pistons drive through swash plates 7 carried on inclined crank pins 6 formed with the main shaft 3, the axes of the pins intersecting the axis of the shaft at points 11 near the cylinder ends of the pins. The central plane of each of the swash plates also passes through the corresponding point 11. The two crank pins 6 are shown in the same plane but the shaft may be constructed with these in different planes. Weights 33 are formed on the shaft to balance the unsymmetric pins 6.
