Abstract

244,912. Deschamps, L. Dec. 22, 1924. Studs, detachable.-Interchangeable studs 1, Fig. 1, are detachably mounted on permanent projections 2 extending from thin rigid sole and heel plates preferably of aluminium alloy attachable to the soles and heels' of boots and shoes especially sporting boots such as football boots. The detachable studs are threaded metal members 6, Fig. 4, with indiarubber covers 7 with or without strengthening metal inserts 7a. A conical recess 9 is provided to accommodate a corresponding shoulder 10 on the projection 2. The rubber engages in a dovetailed groove 11 in the stud. The studs have a slot 12 corresponding to a slot 14 in the rubber whereby they are turned by a screwdriver. The rubber covers may be inset in an outer sole and the metal plate secured between inner and outer soles.
