Abstract

A portable closet that facilitates the separation of human waste. At the base of the closet is a bucket 1 for the collection of urine, a filter 2 is positioned above the base, and above the filter is a cylinder 3 shaped to allow a user to sit on the closet. The filter enables liquid to pass through whilst retaining the solid waste. The closet may have a lid 5 to close the closet when not in use. The closet may be separated to enable the disposal/recycling of the urine and solid waste, with each part having handles 6, 7 to facilitate the separation and transportation of the components. During use the filter may be removed. Alternatively the closet may be used to collect water.

Description

TITLE
WATER CLOSET
BACKGROUND
This invention relates to a water closet designed to provide simple latrine facilities in remote locations and facilitates the recycling of human waste. The device can also be used for water collection.
STATEMENT OF INVENTION
To overcome the widespread problem around the world associated with poor storage and recycling of human waste the present invention proposes a easily transportable water closet design to facilitate this process.
ADVANTAGES
The device can provide a water closet in any location.
The device does not require any water feed or drainage to operate.
The device is lightweight and can be easily transported in bulk.
Preferably the device will be manufactured from highly durable plastic to ensure maximum life expectancy.
Preferably the device will incorporate carrying handles to assist in waste disposal.
Preferably the device will be designed to provide a container for water storage and potentially a device for collecting water via rainfall and or distillation.
INTRODUCTION TO DRAWINGS
An example of the device will now be described by referring to the accompanying drawing Figure one shows a sectional illustration of the water closet Figure two shows an sectional illustration of the water closet when full Figure three shows an sectional illustration of the water closet uses as a water collection device or still Figure four shows a illustrative view of an assembled water closet 2.
DETAILED DESCRIPTION
The device comprises a number of shaped plastic components that are arranged in a manner to provide a water closet. The base of the closet (1) comprises a shaped bucket type collector for urine or water or both. The top part of the closet (3) comprises a shaped cylinder that fits on top of the base of the closet. Above the shaped cylinder is a shaped lid (4) that enables a person to sit or to stand and urinate into the closet. The opening in the lid will also allow solid waste to pass through. The lid will be coated in a product (16) that provides a high slip surface to facilitate water run off into the closet. The closet may also be fitted with a top lid (5) to close the closet when not in use. Between the top and the base of the water closet is a fine filter (2) that will enable water to pass from the top cylinder to the base of the closet whilst retaining the solid waste in the top of the closet. The size of the base and the top of the closet can be amended to reflect the style and capacity required for the water closet. The water closet is designed to be able to be separated at the seal to enable disposal/recycling of the water and solid waste separately by way of handles (6&7). There may be a flexible seal (8) to prevent seepage.
During use the water passes through the filter to fill the base of the closet (11).
The solid waste collects in the top of the closet (12). When utilised as a water collection device water is collected in the base (13) via the opening in the lid (15).
The filter (2) can be removed or retained.
