Abstract

A display board particularly for use inside vehicle windows comprises a body 11 having a window 15 therein for the display of information with. The board is provided with a variable length loop of cord 21 for hanging the board from a support. A resiliently biased slide 24 may be used to clamp the cord at a desired position. At least one pocket located behind the window 15 may be provided for holding an information sheet (18 figure 2).

Description

A Display Board
Field
This invention relates to an information display board which is usable for displaying prices and other information and is especially for use with cars or commercial vehicles.
Background of the Invention
When displaying vehicles for sale, garages need to place notices displaying price information relating to specific vehicles on or in proximity to the vehicle. A known method of displaying the information is to place a notice board within a vehicle mounted on the sun visor and/or mirror using an integral hook. The notice typically hangs vertically downwards and is viewed through the vehicle windscreen. Such a display board is shown in GB-A-2415 281 or GB-A-217l831 * ** * S * * S..
*....: Problems with the above type of display occur due to sun * S I visors being of increased thickness and being sunk into depressions formed in the roof lining.
Furthermore, rear viewmirrors and the mirror supports are being used as convenient locations for various vehicle sensors and GPS devices. As a consequence the mirrors and upports have increased in thickness and may differ considerably from vehicle to vehicle and a display board designed to hang from a rear view mirror may only be suitable for a limited range of vehicles.
The present invention provides a display board which can be utilised with a wide range of vehicles.
Statements of Invention
According to the present invention there is provided a display board having a body with a front face having a display area for displaying changeable information wherein a variable length loop of a readily deformable material is attached to the body for suspension from a support.
The board has the advantage that it can be adapted to hang * *. from a support merely by varying the length of the loop to * * S * S. suite the respective support. S...
S
*5*SS* * 15 The readily deformable material may comprise single or multi-filament yarns, threads, cords string etc. * S. * . . *5SS The variable length loop may be formed from a length of materja1 connected to the body at spaced apart locations on the body, nd doubled portion of the cord etc passing through a slide which is moveable to vary the length of the cord between said slide and said locations.
The slide may be provided with grip means for holding the lide in a desired location on the loop, preferably a releasable grip means.
Description of the Drawings
The invention will be described by way of example and with reference to the accompanying drawings in which: Fig. 1 is a front elevation of a display board according to the present invention, Fig. 2 is a side elevation of the board of Fig. 1, and Fig. 3 is a rear elevation of the board shown in Fig. 1.
Detailed Description of the Invention
* .. With reference to Figs. 1 to 4, there is shown a display * * * * ..
board 10 which comprises a planar body 11 which may be any * *.* desired shape and this case for example only is e*..* * 15 substantially rectangular with a rear face 13 and a front face 14. The body 11 is formed from a sheet of a relatively light rigid material for example, cardboard or a light * * rigid polymeric sheet, such as a polypropylene sheet The body 11 has at least one aperture or window 15 formed through the body. In this example there is only one rectangular window, however any desired number of windows of any desired shape may be used. A pocket 16 is formed on the rear face 13 behind the window 15.
In an alternative arrangement a plurality windows may be provided in the body 11 with a single pocket or a plurality of pockets arranged on the rear face 13, conveniently one pocket per window.
he pocket 16 is conveniently formed from a single planar sheet 17 which is adhered to the rear face 13 of the body by means of double sided adhesive tape or a suitable adhesive. The pocket 16 is open at its upper end and is dimensioned to receive an information sheet 18 or similar display items which fills the window and may for example display alpha-numeric information for example a sale price.
The displayed information may be changed by changing the information heet.
The window 16 may be filled with a transparent PET film sheet which sits within each pocket and is adhered to the *:iu15 rear face 13 of the body 11.
A length of a readily deformable material for example cord 21 or similar such as yarn, string, etc. is secured to the * * top edge margin of the body 11 at two spaced apart locations formed by apertures 22,23 in the body. The cord 21 may be formed into contiiuous loop connected to the body by passing through the apertures as shown. Alternatively the ends of the cord may be anchored to the body.
The length of cord 21 has a portion which is doubled together to pass through a slide 24 which is inoveable to vary the length of the loop 21A of cord between said slide and the body. It is this portion 21 of the cord which is used for suspending the display board from a suitable upport, such as the rear view, the doubled portion 21B of the cord to the other side of the slider being effectively redundant.
The slide 24 is provided with a releasable grip means 25 for holding the slide in a desired location on the loop and which includes a resilient fastener which is biased in a direction to grip the loop and is released by overcoming said bias. The released slider may be moved along the cord to increase or decrease the length of redundant doubled *:*::* cord depending upon the length of portion 21A required for s's., passing around the support. 5Ss*
*I5**S * 15 The holder is preferably for use on the inside of a vehicle adjacent the front screen or rear screen, and typically will hang from the drivers rear view mirror or a sun iisor.
The board is sufficiently weight and has sufficient rigidity to hang from its supporting cord.
